Practice Closure and Contact Information

With the closure of Michigan Cornea Consultants, Dr. Chow has joined Ophthalmic Specialists of Michigan (OSM,  www.osmich.com) as their cornea specialist.  He will be seeing patients at the following OSM offices: 

Dearborn:  (313) 561-7255.  24241 Michigan Avenue  (west of Telegraph Road)

Madison Heights:  (248) 268-1079.  301 W. 13 Mile Road  (west of John R Road)

Southfield:  (248) 861-2020. 29201 Telegraph Road (northwest corner at 12 Mile Road)  Dr. Chow is again seeing patients right back in his previous office space in the Comerica Building.

If you follow Dr. Chow to OSM and have seen him within the last 5 years, he will have access to your cornea medical records so no special arrangements to obtain them are needed.  You will need to fill out new patient contact and health insurance paperwork at your first OSM appointment.

Biography

 

Originally from Long Island, New York, Dr. Chow graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. He earned his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1991. During medical school, he spent a year at the National Institutes of Health doing research as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Scholar. After completing his ophthalmology residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary of Harvard Medical School, he served a fellowship in Corneal and External Disease at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami.

 

On completing his fellowship training, Dr. Chow moved to Southeast Michigan to join the practice of Michigan Cornea Consultants in1996.  

 

Dr. Chow specializes in treating ocular surface diseases (dry eye, blepharitis, allergy), keratoconus, corneal infections and corneal transplantation.

Dr. Chow is a recognized speaker and author, both nationally and internationally. Several of his research and review articles on cornea and ocular diseases have been published in ophthalmic journals and textbooks. Dr. Chow is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and Clinical Instructor of Ophthalmology at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan and the Detroit Osteopathic Ophthalmology Residency Program. He is also actively involved in a number of national research studies that are seeking new ways to diagnose and treat corneal and external diseases.
